The Point Spread Column

Last week I wrote here about how unusual the card was where there were 9 home dogs and none of them covered, one pushed. Well, the same phenomenon happened again as there were 5 home dogs and none covered, one pushed depending on the line. Although there were four overtime games, the dog only covered one of them. So, as close as the games were, 11 favorites covered. This continues a trend where public favorites are beating the books in Vegas. Even as the Vegas books shade the favorites ever higher, they still keep covering. With all the sportsbooks available online now, it afffords a player a real chance to get good numbers. There are even some opportunities to find some "middles" if one was inclined to do so. We are closely monitoring the basketball and will start that later this month.
