The Point Spread Column

No doubt that our NFL Wild Card picks took a hit last week and that was very disappointing. I am wondering though if the NFL shouldn't change the rule that nullified that obvious touchdown that would have tied the game between Tampa and Washington? When a receiver takes 2 steps in the end-zone with the ball, that should be a touchdown anyday, no matter what he does with it if he comes down on the ground. I am afraid that the NFL is becoming like the former Soviet Union and all massive bureacracies where things are decided by committee. They are beginning to strangle themselves in their own rules and red tape. Maybe there are too many rules. Because of this, the NFL game is not nearly as pure a football as the colleges play. NFL games have become a bastardized version of football for television. Did I mention that our Basketball picks are 12-6? We had a 5-0 SWEEP on the first BIG MONDAY of the year and there are lots of winners to come!
