The Detroit Pistons may have been the best NBA team during the regular season, but they have regressed in the playoffs. First, they struggled with Cleveland. They had trouble with LeBron James. Any team would have trouble with Lebron, but the rest of the Cavalier team was not nearly that good. So, the Pistons should have knocked them off earlier. Now, they are in a war with Miami. They can’t stop Dwayne Wade and he has a much better team around him than LeBron’s Cavs. A determined Shaq and a crafty head coach in Pat Riley have put the Pistons in a precarious position. Whoever wins the series will likely be favored over the Western Conference winner. That is strange, because the West was much stronger as a conference this year. Now that the Spurs are out, a new team will be in the finals. Phoenix and Dallas are in a dogfight. The Mavericks emerged by beating the World Champs in seven games and it took seven for Phoenix to subdue the surprising Clippers. It looks like the Suns and Mavs will go seven games as well.
